Questions
Is my video uploaded to be converted?
No — and that is unusual for this job. Frames are pulled out of the video by your browser and encoded by a worker on your machine, so a clip you would not want on a stranger's server never goes near one.
Free, and is the GIF watermarked?
Free, and clean. No logo burned into the corner and no length paywall.
How long a clip can I convert?
The trim is capped at 15 seconds, which is a deliberate limit — GIF is a wasteful format and longer clips produce enormous files. There is a helper that shrinks things automatically if you cross 8 MB.
Does it work on an iPhone?
It does, though encoding is heavier work than the other tools here, so a long clip on an older phone will take a while. Shorter and narrower is faster.
Do I need to register to download the GIF?
No. The file saves as soon as the encode finishes.
