Questions
How can it merge without uploading?
Modern browsers can read a file from disk and rewrite the PDF structure in memory. The merging library runs as JavaScript in your tab, so the pages are stitched together on your own processor.
Does merging reduce quality?
No. Merging copies pages across untouched — text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution. Only the compress mode changes anything about how a page looks.
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
There is no set limit. People routinely merge twenty or thirty short documents. The constraint is your device's memory, so a stack of very large scans is the one case worth doing in two batches.
Will page numbers or bookmarks survive?
Page content, including printed page numbers, comes across exactly as it was. Bookmarks and form fields from the original files are not carried into the merged document.
Is it free and does it need an account?
Free, unlimited, no account, and no watermark on the merged file.
