Rotate PDF pages the right way up

Merge, split, rotate and shrink PDFs

Scanners have a habit of turning half a document sideways. Rotating in a PDF viewer only fixes it on screen — reopen the file and it is sideways again. This writes the rotation into the file itself, page by page or all at once, so it prints and shares correctly everywhere.

Questions
Is the file uploaded to rotate it?
No. The rotation flag is rewritten inside the PDF on your device and the file is handed straight back to you.
Why does my viewer forget the rotation?
Viewers often rotate the display only. Saving the rotation into the document, which is what happens here, is what makes it stick when someone else opens it.
Can I rotate only the upside-down pages?
Yes. Each thumbnail has its own control, so a mixed-orientation scan can be fixed page by page.
Does it re-compress anything?
No. Rotating changes a single instruction per page; image quality and text are untouched, and the file size barely moves.
Free without an account?
Yes, like everything on this site.
