Convert AVIF to JPG

HEIC, WebP, PNG, JPG and AVIF

AVIF is the newest image format on the web and the one most likely to be met with a shrug by whatever software you need to open it in. Converting to JPG makes it universally readable — for a document, a slide deck, a print order, or an upload form that has not been updated since 2015. Done locally, in seconds.

Questions
Where does the conversion happen?
On your device. Your browser decodes the AVIF and re-encodes it as a JPG — nothing is sent over the network.
Why does nothing open my AVIF file?
Browsers adopted AVIF quickly but desktop applications did not. Older Photoshop versions, many CMS uploaders and most office software still cannot read it.
Will the JPG be noticeably worse?
At high quality, no. AVIF compresses better than JPG, so the JPG will be a larger file at the same visual quality — that is the trade you make for compatibility.
Does it work on an iPhone?
Yes, in Safari on a recent iOS version, which handles AVIF natively.
Is there a catch?
No fee, no account, no size limit that we impose.
